About
I’m Petar Zayakov, a software engineer and product builder based in Prague, Czech Republic. I design and build clear, dependable interfaces for the web and mobile devices. My day-to-day work is centered on JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, React Native, and the wider modern frontend ecosystem. I also build full-stack products end to end, with Go services, authentication, and payments behind the interface.
Business experience
For over a decade I ran businesses. I took my own hotel from a business plan through to its sale, led sales, and served as CEO of a company I co-owned. I also worked with large retail partners. That experience helps me ask who a product is for and how it will work in practice.
What I work on
I’m most useful on products that need thoughtful UI implementation, responsive layouts, design-system work, frontend architecture, or a practical route from an idea to a working application, backend included. You can find selected projects in the work section on the home page.
How I work
I care about software that is understandable to the people who use it and maintain it. That means accessible HTML, predictable behavior, concise content, and technology chosen for the problem instead of for novelty. I use AI coding tools in my daily workflow while keeping product judgment, verification, and maintainability at the center of the work. I also experiment with AI and the impact it might have on future user interfaces, and write about these UX experiments on my blog.
